Paul Pogba came back to his basics
It was a night that demanded a great performance form every French player and it certainly was as the whole team step up as a unit and performed brilliantly and the pick of them was Paul Pogba. Though conceding a penalty in the early stages of the game Pogba came up brilliantly as at the end of the game he had the most touches and passes than any other player on the ground. The French boss Dider Deschamps fielded Pogba in his preferred left midfield role where he normally plays for Juventus and he flourished brilliantly. The return of Paul Pogba in the Medfield will be very crucial in the next matches for France.
Antoine Griezmann shows his true class
A lot was expected from the French Hitman but he had failed to deliver that in the group stages as the French team was banking on him for the goals in the absence of Karim Benzema but was usually put in the different role from what Diego Simone used him all the season, but in the last night match he didn’t disappoint as he came up with a stellar performance for the French team by scoring brace and you can see from his movements after he scored the two goals showed what goals can do with your confidence.
Ireland didn’t let France get away easily
Most of people expected that this will be an easy tie for the French team but the Irish team came up with a blockbuster performance. They will definitely go to their country with their head held high as they did their best and had a memorable win against Italy too, that will surely live in their heart and the performance against the French team was equally good.
